Competition Data Format

The Dataset ED17 consists of 30 images. We distinguish between true edge areas such as object boundaries and other surface discontinuities (geometrical edges) and false edge areas emerged by changing of illumination (shadows, reflection, etc.). We also exclude edges that are created by textures. For example, there are no edges between different stripes on zebra.
