We mention a few tasks of mining information from time series,
namely finding perceptionally important points, finding intervals
with monotonous trend, evaluation of it in sentences of natural
language, and summarizing information using intermediate
quantifiers. We introduce special formulas characterizing
properties of trend, demonstrate their interpretation and show how
they can be used in mining summarized information.
